A few weeks ago I was wondering through the Rough Trade record shop with my friend Greg, (a.k.a. The Middle Distance Runner) flicking through CDs, and I came across an artist in the ‘American’ section, named Laura Gibson. Every CD in the Rough Trade Records shop has a well articulated biography/album summery, and apparently Laura Gibson, born in Portland, is the daughter of a forest ranger and town kindergarten teacher. She’s also toured and recorded with Colin Meloy of The Decemberists.

Check out this song she recorded for the DECA: A HUSH 10th Anniversary Compilation. It’s pretty beautiful, I’m not gonna lie.
