Because it’s sexier than a traditional coffee table book.
My son turns 3 in a week and a half, I now have to do everything I can to keep him from even remotely knowing who Kanye West is. This coloring book would go a long way.
I would love to win a copy of the Indie Rock Coloring Book so I could use it for embroidery transfers! I would make the coolest t shirts for my daughters (or myself!) as well as pillows, tea towels, wall hangings or whatever I fancied at the time. Of course I would enjoy the actual purpose of the book and color with my 3 year old daughter. <3
i give you… indie rock coloring book inspired haiku:
borderline hipster /
is broke but loves coloring /
niece is turning two…
Basically, this coloring book means I get to avoid buying posters for my walls. That’s right, you heard it here first: Coloring is now an economically sound practice.
Because I got addicted to coloring during my exchange year in America and in Germany we don’t have ANY good colorings books similar to the Indie Rock Coloring Book.
When I was sick in a hospital bed a few years ago out of nowhere I had this insane urge to colour. So I made my family go out and buy me colouring books and coloured pencils and i coloured my heart out. So basically I think when you are stuck in a bed with nothing to do the best thing you can do is colour! So this would make a great gift for sick people…
(it makes a great gift for healthy people too i’m just saying!)
The Indie Rock Coloring Book would make a great gift for my niece…then I could throw away the random coloring printouts laying around the house. (Plus, it’s obviously awesome.)
Because coloring soothes the soul! You learn lessons about (musically and artistically) coloring in, and outside, the lines!
This book would be the ultimate date night! Sitting at home listening to MGMT, Rilo Kelly and Of Montreal and colouring in this amazing book with my boyfriend. It is unmistakably the greatest thing i have heard of lately.
I am Bon Iver’s biggest fan so coloring something that Justin Vernon designed is a dream come true for me!! Plus, I couldn’t imagine regressing into my childhood any other way than coloring in a coloring book with awesome indie bands. Too many people think they are too cool to have fun and do kid things, what losers! Bring on the fun YPB, I’m more than ready:)…So maybe I would share it…very tempting to keep for myself. But it would make a great gift to anyone who believes and loves indie music. It is another, yet uncommon way, to express art. YPB coloring book is unique and something that I ahve never seen before!
Its a great way to get laid.
It would be excellent for a college student who is dirt poor and looking for new ways to procrastinate besides Facebook, i.e. me.
The Indie Rock Coloring Book is a great gift because it lets your inner child out (in a hip way).
Because it combines some of the best things in the world: awesome bands and coloring.
It’s the best way to keep a kid (of any age) from watching MTV and turning into a Kanye fan.
Oddly enough, if I got this as a gift, I’d turn around and buy five more for my closest friends. That’s what makes this a great gift – the feel-goodness (new word?) that your money will go to charity AND buy an amazingly unique coloring book for your pal.
why The Indie Rock Coloring Book makes a great gift:
It brightens up the world.
Two reasons: 1) Because my niece loves to color and desperately needs influence away from Hannah Montana and Taylor Swift. 2) Because my 19-month old son needs coloring books to replace the Disneyesque ones his grandparents keep purchasing.
Dilemma: Do i give the free coloring book to my son or my niece? I guess I’ll still have to buy at least one!
My sister just started college and went from a graduating class of ten to a school with about 20,000 students. When I was a freshman, I coped with going from a teeny, tiny school to a big one by coloring. Nothing can calm the soul of an eighteen year-old like a box of Crayolas and some black lines on paper. However, I was stuck with whatever I could print off of the internet (often Big Bird and Cinderella) and I would like better for her than that. What could be better than the Indie Rock Coloring Book? Oh, that’s right: nothing.
why this would make a great gift? haha are you kidding??cause anyone that would get this would be sooo happy, who wouldn’t want to grab a fresh box of crayons and sit and color the beautiful art of their favorite bands!
ok so….. that is what I a plan on doing! LOL
Why does the Indie Rock Coloring Book make a great gift?
…Because giving this book to your indie music-loving girlfriend is a much more effective way of getting out of the doghouse than sending flowers and a complimentary “I’m sorry” card on a plastic stick.
Because it would be a perfect thing to keep a friend stuffed with happy memorys in the long winter months she is spending in freakin’ MOSCOW!
She would probably think about the night when we colored it over a bottle of wine and remember that she can always just come home, if everything goes to hell..
I would like to give my son (6 yrs)the book on is next birthday in 3 weeks time, simply because I can not afford to buy him a present, and he sure would like one…
cause i need to be a little kid again. i need my innocence
Because if you run out of wood, you can light it on fire
My college roommate and I met on facebook and bonded over indie music. Then we arrived at the University of Miami and were immediately faced with the horrifying fact that everyone on our floor loves the music of Taylor Swift. And then someone mistook Frank Sinatra for Michael Jackson. Frightened, we hid in our room and took turns blasting Devendra Banhart and Crystal Castles. We haven’t emerged since. An Indie Rock Coloring Book would help alleviate some of the boredom. And make our walls prettier, thus discouraging us from bashing our heads against them during fits of agony over just how bad people’s taste in music is. Help a pair of freshmen out?
Because I don’t wanna grow up too fast.
I always wanted to play an instrument – make my own independent music – and with the indie rock colouring book, now I can! Just think of the amazing jazz brush like sounds I can get – sh shhhh shhhh sh shhh shhhh, then all you need to say is “brrrrummmm” every five seconds in various tones. Record this track and it will be an instant hit! The book is a great way to encourage ordinary people to make music… and keep the special kids from eating crayons (or just me).
Because sending it all the way to Australia would be a real treat for the YBP team. Also, if you send it I will pretend to be Fonzie for an entire day
..because it gives me a reason to run[walk] up to the craft store[Wal-Mart] and buy[steal] a pack of crayons!!
Because this book deserves to travel all the way to Malaysia. Alas, we don’t get the chance to have any of these bands perform here, so the coloring book would be a real gem to have. Plus, I just don’t have a credit card to purchase it >.<
The whole nation is crossing all fingers, legs, arms and eyes for me.
Because my niece’s Dora the Explorer coloring book is a teensy bit racist.
My love was cycling to work when a little bird flew above his head challenging him for a race. “Let’s do this pigeon!”, he shouted out loud. The little bird dropped down his gear with confusion “You’re the pigeon!! Can’t you see I’m a purdy yellow bird?”.
To help all the color blinded men we love, yellow bird created The Indie Rock Coloring Book.
because coloring is INFINITE
Because I can either color in this or on the walls, and my mom is tired of scrubbing.
That is so rad! I want to get it and get together with my best friend and color it as we lie on the floor.
Cause it’s never too late to have a happy childhood!
coloring. indie. charity. rock? wow. what could really be better than this? oh yes. one for FREE!
It’s great for those rainy days inside (at least the ones I have here in Portland) when all you want to do is sit on the floor, make art, and drink tea. It’s relaxing.
Also sometimes you just need a good study break and what other way to have one than with an awesome coloring book filled with art inspired by your favorite indie bands and from an awesome company too
To bring out the inner child in me… We all want to go back to those glory days… now, i can express myself through the music I cherish and love, and have fun at the same time! I want one to show the world that coloring books are not just for children!
