Indie Rock Moustaches!
As you are probably aware, this is the month of ‘Movember’. For those of you who don’t know – ‘Movember’ is a portmanteau between the words ‘Moustache’ and ’November’. Hence, the month of ‘Movember’. Fundraising events are run during this month to raise funds and awareness for men’s health issues, such as Prostate Cancer. Basically, people grow moustaches for charity, and it’s awesome.
So, in honour of ‘Movember’, this blog post will be a dedication, or an ‘ode’ to lead singers in Yellow Bird Project bands – ones who have moustaches. But, not just throughout the month of ‘Movember’. These peeps are committed to the moustache year round. Observe…
Spencer Krug from Wolf Parade:
Andrew Stockdale - Wolfmother
Blake Sennett – Rilo Kiley
An honorable mention goes out to The National; although no members are believed to have moustaches, they did record an amazing song called ‘Mr. November’. We can just imagine them doing a ‘Mr. Movember’ rendition for a charity benefit of some sort…
In keeping with this theme, here are some MP3s for your listening pleasure:
>>MP3: Wolf Parade – Modern World
>>MP3: Wolfmother – Vagabond
>>MP3: Rilo Kiley – Rest of My Life
P.S. Two of our good friends Ari and Harris, are rocking tashes this month to raise money for Prostate Cancer. Please do support them if you feel so inclined. It’s for a good cause, and they look really stupid! Are any of you campaigning for ‘Movember’? Or, do you have any friends or family members who are? If so, whip a link in our comment section so that people can have a look!
Oh, and if you can think of any moustache bearing indie rock stars who we’ve left out please do comment as well.
Lots of moustache love, YBP.

Don’t forget The Tallest Man on Earth, author of the YBP theme song!
GREAT call Henre!!
Here’s my Movember profile: http://au.movember.com/mospace/124743/
And I’ve been posting moustachioed musicians on my Facebook page throughout Movember.
It’s a great cause and deserves lots of support. Thanks for your blog item.
Franz Nicolay.
I mean, come on, does that fuzz the Wolfmother guy is sporting even count?
