Top 10 Highlights of 2010
It feels like just yesterday that we delivered the highlights of 2009. Now another year has gone by and we’re already here saying, bring on 2011! But before we look forward, let’s look back at the year gone by; full of good learnings, new developments and great collaborations with talented, likeminded people.
- New 2010 t-shirt designs. We were lucky enough to include new additions from some of our favourite (and no doubt your favourite) indie rock bands. They include the likes of: Beach House, Andrew Bird, TV on the Radio and Tegan and Sara.
- Raising money for Haiti Relief. After disaster struck we did what we could to raise money for the relief effort. Our friend and collaborator Andy J. Miller coloured in a copy of The Indie Rock Coloring Book (yes, every single page!), which we then auctioned off through eBay to raise money for Partners in Health.
- Hiring our first ever intern! The search is over. Welcome Michelle, to the YBP team! Some of your may have already heard from her…
- A Field Of Birds: Jonathan Lindley‘s fantastic music video, which he made for our theme song. Also, another highlight was seeing The Tallest Man On Earth, opening various shows with the one and only theme song which he composed for YBP.
- The social networks: Keeping the conversation alive with friends, bands, fans, and friendly strangers through our Facebook & Twitter pages.
- Discovering “Dry The River” and booking them for our first ever video shoot, taking place in January 2011. Stay tuned.
- More YBP press. Some great coverage in publications such as The Montreal Gazette, Illustration Mag, and Grafika Magazine.
- Wrapping up our next book project!! Ahem… Your Indie Rock Coloring Book looks lonely underneath that tree on its own. Perhaps your should pre-order The Indie Rock Poster Book to keep it company! Stay tuned for more on that in the New Year.
- A great year in music. Let’s not forget what this is all about… The music. And what a great year it has been! Read here about our favourite albums of 2010.
- You decide. Hit us up! Email us, let us know what you loved most about YBP this year and what you hope to look forward to in years to come.
