Below is a letter which we received from the our beneficiary partners, the Alliance for Climate Education (ACE), thanking us for our most recent donation. This t-shirt, designed by Grizzly Bear, is currently on sale to raise money for this great cause.

Dear Yellow Bird Project,

 Many thanks for your recent contribution of $2,000 to the Alliance for Climate Education (ACE). We’re very excited to apply the money to our DOT Campaign – a DOT is a pledge to Do One Thing to help the environment – which so far has inspired more than 50,000 people to take action to cool the climate.

The introduction through Brighter Planet was serendipitous. We had worked with them in the past because they built the software that we used for a very successful online grant-giving program, and have kept a healthy organizational friendship with them since. It was perfect timing that they thought of us when you approached them with this opportunity.

For the past few months, ACE has been working with Reverb during their summer concerts and we just partnered our DOT Campaign with their Green Music Group – a collection of artists, venues & fans that are seeking limit environmental impact through knowledge and effecting change. Together, we’ll be challenging their members to commit to a “DOT of the month.”

We were looking for funds to build a widget that would live on their site, capture people’s pledges & keep a running tally of how much carbon would be reduced because of people’s commitments. With your generous support, we’ll be able to build the widget for this collaboration and also have it to live on the webpages of other partners.
