Hey there! It’s been awhile hasn’t it? Well I figured the perfect time to catch up would be in my favourite post of the year and that is our top 20 albums of the year post. It has been a great year for music. There have been many promising debuts from many extremely talented people along with some incredible albums from some seasoned veterans in the music world. This is your friendly neighbourhood Middle Distance Runner here to tell about something pretty excellent. Baeble Music, which is a site that primarily films concerts and puts them up on the net for everyone to see free of charge, also has a pretty excellent blog. For awhile now, I have been making these weekly mixtapes for them in a series called T.G.I.Mixtape, on which I showcase some of the hottest new tracks in the indie music world as well as some older stuff as well. This week, on the 28th volume in the series I have put together an extra special YBP edition, full of amazing songs by bands that have been involved in The Yellow Bird Project.

In honour of Of Montreal’s newly designed (and might I say quite fetching) new T-shirt, designed exclusively for the Yellow Bird Project, here is an intimate acoustic performance of “An Eluardian Instance” one of our favourite tracks from their latest album, Skeletal Lamping. The song is performed by lead band member Kevin Barnes on Balcony TV, a music site where artists perform their songs on balconies around the world. Pretty neat idea if you ask me.
